This policy explains what happens to your data when you visit aipulseo.com. It describes what this site currently does, and it will be updated when that changes.
The short version
- This site does not run advertising, and does not use third-party analytics or tracking scripts.
- Nothing you do here is used to build an advertising profile of you, and your data is not sold.
- The only personal information this site collects is what you type into a comment form — plus the ordinary server records every website keeps.
- You do not need an account to read anything here.
Comments
Comments are open on articles. If you leave one, this is what is collected:
- What you type in the form: your name, your email address, your website address if you choose to add one, and the comment itself.
- Your IP address and browser user-agent string, which WordPress records with the comment. This helps with spam detection.
Your name, your comment, the date, and your website link (if you gave one) are published publicly on the article, visible to anyone. Your email address and IP address are not published — they are stored in the site's database and visible to me as the site administrator.
Please don't put anything in a comment that you wouldn't want the whole internet to read.
Avatars next to comments
WordPress can display an avatar image next to comments using Gravatar, a service run by Automattic.
Where an avatar is shown, an anonymised string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to Gravatar to check whether you have an avatar there. If you do, it is shown next to your comment. If you do not have a Gravatar account, no avatar of yours exists there and a default image is shown instead. Gravatar's privacy policy is at automattic.com/privacy.
If you comment
Comments may be held for review before appearing. Retained comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so that follow-up replies can be recognised and threaded, rather than held in a moderation queue each time.
Cookies
This site does not use cookies to track you across the web, and there is no advertising cookie of any kind.
Cookies are used in only two situations:
- If you leave a comment and tick the "save my name, email, and website in this browser" box, cookies store those details so you don't have to retype them next time. These last about one year. Ticking that box is your choice — leave it unticked and the cookies are not set.
- If you log in to the site, WordPress sets cookies to keep you logged in and remember your screen preferences. This applies only to the site's administrator, not to readers.
Embedded content from other sites
Articles may include embedded content — a video, an image, a social media post, an embedded document.
Embedded content from another website behaves exactly as if you had visited that website directly. Those sites can collect data about you, set their own cookies, run their own tracking, and monitor how you interact with the embed — especially if you have an account with them and are logged in. Their privacy policy applies to that, not this one.
The same goes for any link that takes you off this site: once you follow it, you are on someone else's terms.
Server logs
Like every website, this site runs on a hosting provider whose servers keep standard access logs — typically your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. These are ordinary technical records used to keep the site running and secure, not to profile you.
What this site does not do
To be explicit, aipulseo.com currently does not:
- Run advertising or ad networks
- Use third-party analytics or tracking scripts
- Use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies
- Sell, rent or trade your personal information
- Run a newsletter or mailing list, or collect email addresses for marketing
- Require an account to read anything
If any of that changes — if analytics, a newsletter, or advertising is ever added — this page will be updated to say so.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data this site holds about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted.
In practice, for a reader of this site, that data is almost always just a comment and the email address attached to it. If you have left a comment and want it removed, or want the data associated with it deleted, ask and it will be done. This does not apply to data that has to be kept for legal, security or spam-prevention reasons.
Children
This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Data security
Reasonable measures are taken to protect the information this site holds, but no website can promise perfect security, and this one won't pretend otherwise.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date at the bottom of the page changes with it. Material changes will be described rather than slipped in quietly.
